Indian Higher Education and Tribals
Synopsis
The book contains thirty-four papers elaborating on various aspects of Indian Higher Education and Tribals. For study point of view all papers are divided among four major heads, i.e. (A) Framework for Regulating Higher Education in India, (B) Higher Education and Human Capital in Globalised Era, (C) Regional Perspectives in Higher Education, and last (D) Policy Imperatives for Higher Education.
Tribal communities are living in abject poverty. They cannot afford the costly education imparted by private and foreign institutions. Need of the hour is to consider the socio-economic and cultural aspects of diverse groups especially the marginalized tribal group otherwise the system will widen the already prevailing disparities. In this book, paper contributors have tried to see the problems and prospects of higher education through different angles. Certainly, these will help the policy-makers, planners and legislators to shape the Indian higher education in order to promote inclusive growth.
