A Journey Through India's Past: Great Hindu Kings after Harshavardhana
Synopsis
The book is a sequel to the author’s earlier book A Journey through India’s Past (from Earliest Times to the Last Hindu Emperior) published by the Northern Book Centre, New Delhi in 2005. The format is, however, different. It covers the vast gamut of Great Hindu Kings after Harshavardhana and in the process outlines the political history of the concerned dynasties as well. The author has exhibited great skill in covering kings who had built large empires or had shown extra-ordinary valour and sense of sacrifice, while limiting the size of the book to that set for the target readership.
A notable feature of the book is that it covers the great kings of the South who are not widely known to the general reader in the North. The author presents a critical, concise and authentic appraisal of the kings before the reader. It will, therefore, be of use not only to the general reader, but even to the serious and discerning students of Ancient Indian History.
