Synopsis
In modern world, the Internet is a worldwide network of computers that uses common communication standards and interfaces to provide the physical backbone for a number of interesting applications. One of the most utilized of these Internet applications is the World Wide Web. What sets the Web apart is an easy-to-use interface to complex network of computer and data. The Internet, sometimes called simply ‘the Net’ is a worldwide system of computer networks – a network of network, in which users at any one computer can, if they have permission, get information from any other computer.
Now, Internet telephony hardware and software allows real-time voice conversation. The most widely used part of the Internet is the World Wide Web. Its outstanding feature is hypertext, a method of instant cross-referencing. In most Websites, certain words or phrases appear in text of a different colour other than the rest; often this text is also underlined. The Internet and the World Wide Web are not the same thing, though they are interrelated. The Internet encompasses the Web, but it also encompasses other online protocols, in addition to the web.
