Kumbh Mela
One of the major Hindu religious occasions, the Kumbh Mela occurs four times every twelve years and rotates among four hallowed locations: Allahabad (Prayag), Haridwar, Ujjain and Nashlk where the sacred drops of the mythical amrita (nectar) from the Amrtit Kumbh (urn of nectar) are said to have fallen. Once every twelve years the planets align m a configuration eagerly awaited by millions of devotees. It is time for Haridwar Kumbha Mela. The Kumbh Mela at Haridwar takes place when the planet Jupiter enters Aquarius and the Sun enters Aries.
