About the author

Madhu Rajput

Dr. Madhu  Rajput is Ph.D. in History and is currently working as a Reader in the Department of Western History, University of Lucknow.  Her area of research is South-Asia, specifically Bhutan.  The topic of her Ph.D. was “Indo-Bhutan Relations since 1949 – A Study of Political, Social and Economic Affairs”.

Having explored the less traveled trajectories of Bhutan with all the picturesque and awe-inspiring scenery, it is only natural that she has again undertaken the task of pursuing D.Litt. on Bhutan to unveil the magnificent culture, ethics and the unprecedented events of this mysterious Himalayan kingdom.

She was the Organizing Secretary of the National Seminar on Bhutan held on 24 October 2008, the occasion of the centenary year of the monarchy.  She has presented several papers in National Conferences in India.
