Count–Down From Solomon Or The Tamils Down the Ages Through Their Literature
Synopsis
This third special volume consists of three parts. In the first part, an attempt has been made by the authoress to study Kampan as a consummate artist of the first order in narrating the events, episodes and situations of the story of his Ramayanam. The learned authoress is of the view that the great Poet Kampan stands unique and unrivalled in the dramatic treatment of his narrative. In the second part, Mrs. Hephzibah Jesudasan interprets almost all the major and minor characters of Kamparamayanam and evaluates the genius of Kampan in the art of characterization. In the third part, the authoress has attempted to establish that Kampan is not only the greatest of Tamil poets but also a seer who visualizes a social set-up in which the concern for the welfare of the people and universal brotherhood are held in high esteem.
