Globalisation implies widening and deepening integration with the globe, i.e. with people and processes abroad. Globalisation is widely seen as the most important factor that could influence economies of nations the world over in the new millennium. Globalisation has also resulted in the creation of a new business framework. More changes can be expected in the business scenario specifically in terms of openness, adaptiveness and responsiveness.

With the growing globalization and liberalization of the economy - as well as increased privatization of services - women as a whole have been left behind. Mainstreaming of women into the new and emerging areas of growth is necessary. This will require their training and skill upgradation in emerging trades, encouraging them to take up vocational training and employment in the boom sectors. This will also require women to migrate to cities and metros for work. Hence, provision of safe housing, and other gender-friendly facilities at work will need to be provided.
