Ecological challenges and environmental problems, by definition and global. There are simply no partial solutions to such problems as global warming; attenuation of Ozone layer, river and ocean pollution; carbon dioxide emission, deforestation; desertification air and atmospheric pollution. The global ecosystem and the present and further evolution of life on earth are seriously endangered and may well end in a large scale ecological disaster.

A new ethics a new attitude with scientific temper towards discharging our responsibility for caring for ourselves and for the earth is needed. Scientific temper is reverence for even the blade of grass, reverence for all creation, as also co-creation of human with creator, to save the planet earth and to elevate us to a new level of transcendence.

Need is for production with the help of environmentally benign technologies, to take the societies towards sustainability. And development that meet the needs of present beings without compromising the ability of the future generations to meet their needs for sustainable development. Conserving the environment is a fundamental ingredient of sustainable development.

Science is the embodiment of human dignity and eternal truths. Human dignity demands self-reliance, self-sufficiency. Wealth is social product without any greed and exploitation. Economics is the means and not an end. The fruits of science and technology shall be equally shared.
