Buffalo Production Under Different Climatic Regions
India is a country of rich resources and is catapulted to have its rightful place among developed nations soon. Agriculture is a livelihood of about 65 per cent people and livestock is part and parcel of it; contribute 26 per cent of gross domestic product and accounts for about 18 per cent of export. India is richest in bovine population, highest in milk production, and buffalo is major milch animal of the country. To further advance, the animal agriculture in general and buffalo production in particular through balanced feeding, appropriate breeding, management and health care, a regional focus becomes inevitable. The present book illustrates a paradigm to integrated buffalo production with fifteen agro-climatic regions of this Vast country. On each region there has to be a separate, specific know how dovetailing peculiar needs of the people of the region for equitable and sustainable growth of buffalo industry in the country along with its length and breadth.
