Mammals in Captivity-a synoptic profile is an attempt to compile various aspects of morphology, ecology, behaviour and social organizations of 50 mammalian species, generally displayed and exhibited in most of the Indian zoos, on the basis of observation made on specimens housed in two different zoological gardens present in the state of West Bengal and are considered to be important from conservation point of view. This book also depicts their distribution, behavioural changes in captivity, common diseases and healthcare, food and feeding behaviour both I the wild as well as in captivity and present conservation status along with colour photographs and illustrations for better understanding of the species concerned and to formulate better management plan in the wild.
