Women Entrepreneurship: Financial Inclusion and Micro Financing for Self Help Groups in Andhra Pradesh
Women entrepreneurs refer to a group of women who initiate, organize and run business enterprises independently. Though all entrepreneurs face the inherent problems of business, women entrepreneurs who stand the disadvantage of being branded as weaker sex, face many additional problems. The Self Help Groups (SHGs) organized by Panchayat Unions (PU) and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) play a major role in bringing rural women together, in providing them micro credit and in empowering them.
In order to highlight the issues in women entrepreneurship among the academicians, researchers, industrialists and government agencies, the Department of Management Studies, T.J.P.S. College (P.G. Courses) has organized a state level conference on “Women Entrepreneurship: Financial Inclusion and Micro Financing for SHGs” in Andhra Pradesh sponsored by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Hyderabad. This book is compendium of the conference proceedings.
