Dr. P. Ponmurugan is currently working as Professor and Head in the Department of Biotechnology at K.S.R. College of Technology, Tiruchengode, Tamil Nadu, India. He has obtained his Ph.D. degree in Plant Pathology from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Earlier, he worked as Scientist at UPASI Tea Research Institute, Valparai, Tamil Nadu for a period of six years. He has published more than 80 research papers in both national and international journals and filed five patents including two US patents. He reviews the books for the journals of Genes, Genomes and Genomics, Genomics and Proteomics published from Global Science Publications, London, UK and academic journals from New York, USA, respectively. He is also acting as academic council member for various autonomous colleges and Universities in India. He has received Indian Academy Summer Research Fellowship from Indian Academy of Sciences, Bengaluru, Young Scientist Award Fellowship from Tamil Nadu State Council for Sicence and Technology (TNSCST), Chennai, and SERC FAST-TRACK Young Scientist Fellowship from Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi.
