Social Protection in Asia
Synopsis
This book, commissioned by the Ford Foundation, presents an overview of issues related to social protection in Asia. It assesses the challenges of vulnerability and exclusion facing poor and disadvantaged groups in the region and the new forms of vulnerability that are emerging. It argues that the provision of social protection should be seen as a core issue of development and requires urgent combined responses by the governments, society and the organizations and advocacy groups of the poor themselves.
