Child Labour: Dimensions and Determinants
Children are mirror who reflect the future image of a nation. If anybody wants to see the nation he should see its children. If the children grows up properly then the nation will also grow up and if the exploitation of children was there then the nation will go in doom.
Child labour is a global problem. It is multi dimensional and multi layered in nature. The phenomenon of child labour like all other social phenomena is historically and socio-economic conditioned. It is related to multiple issues and situations. It is both a cause and consequence of vulnerabilities poverty illiteracy and livelihood loss. Its emergence growth and nature of dynamics are intrinsically bound with the changing trends in production and reproduction of a social matrix.
Child labour has become a common feature of any third world countries to which India is not an exception and despite adequate efforts in the direction or relief and rehabilitation, the problem continues to grow in an alarming proportion. It child labour is to be eradicated, the governments and agencies and those responsible for enforcement need to start doing their jobs.
