Forests play a very important role in maintaining the environmental and ecological processes in the terrestrial systems and microbes being ubiquitously distributed across the varied soil types, also has equally important role particularly in the nutrient cycling in soil plant-microbe system. In this tripartite relationship, the microbes being in between the soil and plant, has a key role to perform various important biochemical processes and also act a bridge between the two. This book endeavors to explore the role of different groups of microbes in the biodiversity enrichment, forest productivity, land restoration, agricultural productivity and green technology.
