Synopsis Bamboo Information Centre - India, supported by the International Development Research Centre, Canada, was established at the Kerala Forest Research Institute, Peechi in July 1989. The primary objective of the Centre is to collect, organise and disseminate information on bamboos of South and South-East Asia. Efforts have been made to collect and document bamboo literature from the area as exhaustively as possible. The Centre has been publishing BIC-India Bulletin, a semiannual publication which included among other things abstracts of literature collected at the Centre. This work - Bamboos of South and South-East Asia is a cumulation of the abstracts which appeared in four volumes of BIC-India Bulletins. Some abstracts which were not included in the bulletins and abstracts of some important articles which fall outside the South and South-East Asia regions have also been included here to make the bibliography more useful. A total of 1304 abstracts have been provided. Abstracts are arranged under broad subject categories alphabetically by author's name. Separate author and subject indexes have been given.
