About the author

Arvind Dass

Arvind Dass is a social scientist by profession, associated with consultancy and advisory services in the department of Social Welfare and department of Rural Development for two State Governments. He has a doctorate in sociology from the Karnataka University and has specialized in Cultural Anthropology and a modified version of his doctorate dissertation, “Untouchability and Pollution among the Lingayath of Southern Karnataka” was widely acclaimed by the academic community. Presently, he is also programme co-ordinator (Cultural Exchange) for the Forum for Academic and Cultural Exchange (FACE) based in Bangalore and Mumbai.
