The papers contained in this volume, except the first, are the texts of the lectures delivered on such occasions. The are presented in a single volume so that readers get an opportunity to acquaint themselves with the perspectives of different authors on subjects of topical interest.

About the author

K.G. Paulose

Dr. K. G. Paulose, at present a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla, was the first Vice-Chancellor of Kerala Kalamandalam. He is a specialist in comparative aesthetics, Natyashastra, ancient theatre and the Kutiyattam art form. He has been honoured by the Kerala Sahitya Akademi and Kerala Sangeet Natak Akademi. In 2009, Thirupati Sanskrit Viswavidyalaya has conferred the title of ‘Vachaspati’ on him.
