New Approaches for Fast Forward Agricultural Production
The present volume titled New Approaches for Fast Forward Agricultural Production has 10 chapters divisible into four disciplines. The first discipline deals with the biotechnology, includes new methods of molecular biology for improving agriculture practices, advances in polymerase chain reaction and recombinant DNA technology for crop improvement, assessing cultivation, utility, biotechnology and molecular diversity in Cumin (Cuminum cyminum). Second discipline deals with the in vitro propagation of some of the medicinally important plants through Tissue culture methods and assessment of the adverse effect of chilling stress on physiological and metabolic pathways of plants. The second last section includes two chapter enlighting the role of nanotechnology in agriculture and food processing, improving crop production through the use of nanotubes and nanoparticles as Plant Growth Regulators. The last section includes one chapter highlight the milestones in the discovery of plant biotechnology aspects.
The present volume is certain to become the standard reference for the scientists, professionals and graduate students interested in molecular biology, crop plant development and nanobiotechnology. The book will be extremely useful for plant breeders, agronomists, biotechnologists, agri-biotechnologists, geneticists, nanobiotechnologists, cytogenetisists taxonomists, molecular biologists and plant physiologists. Post graduate students, B.Sc. (honors) students in these disciplines having adequate background in genetics, molecular biology and spectrum of other researchers interested in biology, nanotechnology and agriculture will also find the book a worthwhile reference text.
